Centre RISC - Centre de recherche et d'innovation en sécurité civile du Québec
The Quebec Research and Innovation Center in Civil Security (Centre de recherche et d’innovation en sécurité civile du Québec - Center RISC) is an applied research and transfer center recognized by the Government of Quebec as a College Centre for Technology Transfer (CCTT) and by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) as a Technology Access Center (TAC). Centre RISC is a member of Synchronex, QuébecInnove and Tech-Access Canada. Its mission is to support innovation and practices improvement in the areas of civil security and emergency response. By offering technical services, research and development support, and training and knowledge transfer activities, the Centre RISC aims to become a reference in the deployment of an innovation culture in civil security.
The Centre RISC has a built a strong team with both practical and scientific backgrounds, offering a unique expertise in its three intervention axes (technical services; research and R&D; training and transfer) and in the four dimensions of civil security (prevention; preparation, intervention and recovery).
The Center is attached to the Campus Notre-Dame-de-Foy (CNDF), the only college in Quebec to offer a full range of programs in the field of civil security. It has unique infrastructures: a multisite of experimentation, an emergency operations center and a mobile unit.
