How:
Inuit communities in Nunavik face a lack of housing alternatives adapted to the socio-territorial realities of the North. Current housing production processes are standardized; they involve numerous organizations with different roles, and seem to promote a technical rationality oriented more towards the quantity of units to be built than towards quality, livability and meaning. This proposition examines Nunavik’s housing production system through the notions of complexity and dwelling. It explores the potentialities of complexity to broaden the understanding of the current model of housing production, in order to aim for resilient processes that are better grounded in the realities, aspirations and ways of the Inuit population.
