Inuit are one of the youngest and fastest growing populations in Canada, but experience unique challenges in health equity, and in accessing early learning and child care (ELCC) programming and services.

The IECDWG conducted engagement sessions to provide Inuit perspectives for the development of the Government of Canada’s National Indigenous ELCC Framework. The Framework was launched earlier this year and has the potential to change the ELCC landscape for Inuit children and their families. This presentation will explore the social determinants of health affecting Inuit children, and look at the changing landscape of Inuit ECD in Canada.
