A young Iñupiaq artist reflects on climate change and its effects on Alaskan Native villages. She narrates the motivation behind her portrait while exploring her role in the preservation of land and culture. Who We Are aims to honour the strength and legacy of Indigenous people.
Shaman | Echo Henoche (Nunatsiavut) [5:03]
This animated short tells the story of a ferocious polar bear turned to stone by an Inuk shaman. The tale is based on emerging filmmaker Echo Henoche's favourite legend, as told to her by her grandfather in her home community of Nain, Nunatsiavut, on Labrador's North Coast.
Killormut | Ulannaq Ingemann (Greenland) [7:55]
An intense and intimate drama of a man at a dark crossroads in his life trapped in a nightmare scenario of his own creation.Killormut is a lesson for us all about the choices we make and the split second in which we regret them.
Three Thousand | Asinnajaq (Nunavik) [14:04]
Diving into the NFB’s vast archive, Inuk artist Asinnajaq parses through the complicated cinematic representation of the Inuit. Embedding historic footage into original animation, she conjures up a vision of hope and beautiful possibility.

Simeonie Kisa-Knickelbein is a young Inuk born and raised in Iqaluit, Nunavut. A recent graduate from Nunavut Sivuniksavut, he has recently worked on the Sci-fi feature film Slash/Back filmed in Pangnirtung, Nunavut. Simeonie is interested in further pursuing his education in film studies.
