Paulo Silva Pereira is Assistant Professor of the Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures at the School of Arts and Humanities at the University of Coimbra and a Member of the Centre for Portuguese Literature. He teaches in the areas of Portuguese Literature; Cultural Studies; Interart Studies; Literature, Memory and History; Literature, Arts and Media; and Digital Humanities. He has published several works on Portuguese literature and culture from the sixteenth to the eighteenth centuries and on digital media and virtual culture. He is a member of the project ‘No Problem Has a Solution: A Digital Archive of the Book of Disquiet’. In 2015 he co-edited an issue of MATLIT on “Arts, Media and Digital Culture”, and has been working as thesis adviser on research projects in the fields of Digital Humanities, intermediality, and digital media. He was Director of the PhD Programme in Portuguese Language Literature and he is currently the principal investigator of the project ‘Ex Machina: Inscription and Literature’. He is also a Member of the Management Committee of COST Action ‘Distant Reading for European Literary History’.
