This panel brings together a cultural analyst with training in copyright law related to artificial intelligence (Tom Lebrun), a new media artist working on agent-based art using machine learning (Sofian Audry), a computer scientist currently on the TensorFlow team who curates a website featuring machine-generated literature (Karmel Allison), and a digital poet who investigates machine learning and big data (David Jhave Johnston), to examine and discuss the impacts and potentials of the advent of deep learning in relation to electronic literature. It is hoped that the panel will also become a space for open discussion of creativity, authorship, and notions of the literary in the era of neural networks.

Note: as two of the panel participants are French, aspects of the panel may be bilingual with translations offered spontaneously.
