This panel revisits pre-web hypertext literature in an effort to re-open a discussion about canon. While the presenters recall works that have achieved recognition and status––Michael Joyce’s afternoon: a story, Shelley Jackson’s Patchwork Girl, Deena Larsen’s Marble Springs, Stuart Moulthrop’s Victory Garden, and Judy Malloy’s its name was Penelope––its primary focus is to highlight other works from the same period that are less referenced but likewise deserving of study and recognition.
