Adèle Esposito est chargée de recherche au CNRS, au sein de l’UMR AUSser « Architecture, Urbanistique, Société : savoirs, enseignement, recherche » (UMR n°3329 CNRS/MCC).
Elle travaille sur la fabrique contemporaine des villes d’Asie du Sud-Est et, plus particulièrement, sur la façon dont le patrimoine devient argument de projet, de transformation, et de développement urbain. Sa recherche a comme objet d’enquête privilégié le projet, à l’échelle architecturale, urbaine, et territoriale, étudié en tant que processus qui va de la conception à la réception, et dans sa relation avec les acteurs qui le façonnent, le réalisent, et se l’approprient. Croisant l’analyse de la matérialité architecturale et urbaine avec celle des logiques, des significations et des objectifs qui nourrissent l’action patrimoniale et d’aménagement spatial, les recherches d’Adèle Esposito considèrent la ville et les territoires habités comme des faits culturels complexes, rendant compte de l’évolution et des persistances des sociétés sud-est asiatiques en mutation rapide.
