Allison Bain is a professor of Archaeology at Université Laval University and former Director of the CÉLAT research centre. She also co-directs the archaeological field school in historical archaeology since 2006 and is Director of the environmental archaeology laboratory at Université Laval. Trained in anthropology, her research interests focus on human-environment interactions in the past. She is an invited researcher and collaborator on multidisciplinary projects in North America, South America, Scandinavia and Europe.  She is member of the FRQ-SC funded Groupe de recherche en archéométrie, and also directs an international project working in environmental archaeology and paleoclimatology in the Caribbean in collaboration with the City University of New York (CUNY), funded by the National Science Foundation and the Social Science and Humanities Research Council of Canada.
