Prof. Manon Savard

Manon Savard is Professor of Human Geography of the Environment and of Archaeology at the Université du Québec à Rimouski (UQAR). Her research interests include archaeobotany, the reciprocal relations between societies and their environment, and the emergence of agriculture in the Levant. Nicolas Beaudry is Professor of History and Archaeology at the UQAR. He is specialized in late antique archaeology and has directed field projects in Syria and Albania. Since they joined the UQAR in 2005 and 2006, both have widened their interest and they have been developing together a practice of archaeology in Eastern Québec. Their realizations include the creation of UQAR’s Laboratoire d’archéologie et de patrimoine, an archaeological field school, and a number of archaeological projects and interventions in collaboration with regional institutions.
