Thomas Renard est maître de conférences en histoire de l'art contemporain et directeur du département d'histoire de l'art et archéologie de l'université de Nantes. Il a achevé en 2012 une thèse en cotutelle entre les université Paris-Sorbonne et Ca' Foscari de Venise intitulée "Architecture et figure identitaire de l'Italie unifiée, 1861-1921". Celle-ci est actuellement en cours de publication aux P.U.R.
