Located on a shared territory, the Cégep de l ’Abitibi-Témiscamingue (AT) is engaged in a process of indigenization. The teachers who are members of the CEGEP AT Indigenization Committee, in collaboration with our Indigenous partners, have taken the initiative to revise the disciplinary content, pedagogical approaches, and the welcoming of Indigenous students within the college. The aim is to make these elements more inclusive and better oriented towards cultural safety.

Our presentation highlights the ten essential steps to achieve this goal. We want to work together with First Nations members to make this approach concrete, rooted in the reality of our Native populations, and accessible to everyone. This collaboration, supported by the entire community, has enabled us to simplify our approach, which can be summed up in ten easy-to-remember and easy-to-implement actions.
