The objective of the program is to provide an opportunity for more than 12,000 Indigenous youth in Quebec (Grade 5 to Secondary 5), who attend schools located in First Nations and Inuit communities in Quebec, to showcase their talent, creativity, and perseverance in the fields of science and engineering. The program has six components: the ESA-Quebec provincial final, participation in the Canada-Wide Science Fair (CWSF), participation in the International Science Fair (ISF), educator training, selection and training of judges, and mentoring management. The program is unique! It has been in existence since 1998. Since its inception, it has received support from public (federal and provincial) and private organizations.
