In 2023, Université du Québec en Abitibi-Témiscamingue publicly committed to integrating Indigenous knowledge and perspectives into all its programs by 2026. As part of a decolonization approach, the work carried out by the Department of Studies (DAÉ) and the Mamawi Mikimodan Service (SMM) will better equip program teams in highlighting Indigenous perspectives within the programs and ensuring their cultural relevance. The topics covered will be the development and dissemination of a pitch for program teams, concrete demonstration of the changes made in the guides and tools used by program teams, and the application of the two-eyed principle. The relationship of trust, openness, and reciprocity between the SMM and the DAÉ is one of the success factors of their project. Their collaborative work is a balance between the Western vision and the Indigenous vision.
