This action-research project, conducted in collaboration with partners in the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region, addresses the issue of accessibility and educational success for Native post-secondary students. Through a qualitative study that surveyed 33 actors from post-secondary institutions, 14 Indigenous students and 21 members of their families, the findings shed light on the disparities experienced by students during transitions (racism, difficult access to housing, employment, etc.). These findings show the need for a holistic approach to meet their needs. These go beyond school needs by including the physical, spiritual, emotional and mental dimensions of Indigenous vision. To meet these needs, an approach of shared responsibility between urban actors, families and Indigenous communities is put forward by the participants in the study. This communication will present the various support and hospitality initiatives deployed in urban and community settings to support Indigenous students throughout their journey.
