In the fall of 2023, the Université du Québec (UQ), in collaboration with a committee of experts from Indigenous education organizations and UQ institutions, launched an online self-training module entitled “Place aux Premiers Peuples dans l’enseignement universitaire": https://enseigneraluniversite.com/

This module is intended for teaching staff. Its purpose is to get teachers to reflect on Indigenous issues within university education and to equip them so that they can enrich their course content and pedagogical approaches in line with this theme. The idea is to ensure that teachers consider the issues, realities, and perspectives of First Peoples in their teaching. Examples of practices and resources are shared in the module by several teachers.

The proposed workshop aims to raise awareness of this training, to discuss the rich content that composes it and to offer a space for sharing practices between the participants. In doing so, we want to encourage the consideration of Indigenous perspectives in university courses and programs.
