In this workshop, we will consider how post-secondary institutions can support forms of learning that involve Indigenous communities, grounded in their reality and incorporating their knowledge and pedagogy.

We will provide an overview of the initiatives offered to Indigenous students by the Office of Community Engagement at Concordia University, including the Community Learning Fund (CELFIS) and the experiential learning and research internship program. Indigenous community engagement is crucial in that it places the community, its knowledge and values at the heart of education decisions.

How do our programs promote Indigenous community spaces as places of learning and knowledge?

How do our programs contribute to the well-being of Indigenous students and their communities? Are they a key to their success?
