Anastasia Kostina

Anastasia Kostina is a lecturer in the Film and Media Studies program at Yale University. Her current research focuses on the career of Soviet documentary pioneer Esfir Shub from 1927 to 1937. Anastasia's broader academic interests include documentary history and theory, Soviet and post-Soviet documentary, relationship between documentary and ideology, history of women’s cinema, environmental film. In recent years her writings on film have been published by Film Quarterly, Senses of Cinema and KinoKultura.
