Sarah Heussaff

Sarah Heussaff has a Master's degree in curating from Rennes 2 University, France. From 2014 to 2019, she began researching the field of disability and crip arts via online chronicles. Her research is also presented at that time in France and abroad through conferences, workshops and on the occasion of an exhibition (Autonomous Spaces, Ateliers du Vent-Rennes, 2017) that introduces with Zig Blanquer, the practices of Disability/crip arts in France. In September 2019, she starts a PhD research in the communication program at UQAM. In 2023, her research, funded by the Fonds de Recherche du Québec-Société et culture (FRQSC), focused on the emergence of disability arts in relation to disability activist movements and accessible curating. Currently, as part of her research-creation she is curating an exhibition that will open in Montreal in February 2024 around the notion of bedlife. In her research method and references, she places great importance on those who have expertise through experience.
