Mélanie Millette

Mélanie Millette, PhD, is Professor in the Department of social and public communication at UQAM, as well as a member of the Laboratory for communication and the digital (LabCMO, UQAM and Université Laval) where she leads the Methodological axis since 2016. She is also a member of the Réseau québécois en études féministes (ReQEF). Her current work is examining how social media uses may contribute to political agency and social recognition for minoritized people and women. Her work has been published in English, French and Portuguese, in major peer-reviewed journals in Internet Studies and Communication, such as Social Media + Society and Questions de communication. Her last peer-reviewed co-edited book is dedicated to qualitative methods for Internet research (open access, Presses de l’Université de Montréal, 2020).
