Sean Loughrey

Dr. Sean Loughrey works within a multi-disciplinary art practice, including photography, video, painting, drawing and sound-based projects and teaches photography at Deakin University, Australia. His Installations and photographic work examine the notion of imagined worlds. At times these ‘worlds’ acknowledge political histories, at other times histories within art. Current studio-based projects have sought experimental approaches to photography as material, in which digital and analogue processes are united, reflecting upon questions regarding the history/s of representation in art within the digital age.
