Leen is a film and media historian at LUCA School of Arts / KU Leuven in Belgium. Her research interests include Belgian cinema; media and and spectacle in the First World War, the history of cinema-going and cinema cultures, 19^th century visual culture (magic lantern, the panorama) and media archaeology. She is president of the International Association for Media and History (www.iamhist.net).
