Ellie Turner-Kilburn

She/Her

University of Sussex

Ellie is PhD student at the University of Sussex, where she also obtained an MA in Sexual Dissidence. Her research explores the ways that queer history is spoken about in the present. In particular she focuses on stories of queer women in the post-war/Pre-Stonewall era, and considers contemporary iterations of these pasts in film, literature and heritage studies. In addition to this, she was also employed as the Project Coordinator on the Our Screen Heritage project, combining insight from her academic research alongside previous community and freelance work.
