Victoria Cerdeira

Ph.D. Student
UQAM
Participates in 1 Session

Hello! An argentinean scientist, who dances cuban salsa, will be talking about the development of the nervous system...

I studied Biotechnology and Molecular Genetics in Argentina, and published my first paper on bacterial growth optimization for Argentinean wines (Cerdeira et al., 2019). I also worked on Clinical trials at a Neurobiology Health Centre, which deepened my interest on the brain... and convinced me that my future Ph.D. studies would be in neurosciences.

Now, I'm a Ph.D. student in Dr. Claire Bénard's Lab at UQAM (https://www.benardlab.com/), where I study molecular mechanisms driving and regulating neuronal development, using the amazing model C. elegans!

I will be giving a seminar about my research this coming Thursday 26th November at 12 pm, during the CERMO-FC Series (by zoom). Stay tuned!

For any questions, comments, don't hesitate to send me a mail!
