Marine Cassoret did a a BSc from Queen Mary College (University of London) in Zoology and Aquatic Biology and later went on to do a PhD at the University of Bristol on Pain and Fear in Fish and the welfare aspects of angling. She is now an animal behaviour consultant, developing courses in companion animal behavior and working as a behaviourist in a veterinary clinic. Marine is a member of the International Society of Equitation Science and has regularly published articles on the topic of equitation science and equine welfare in Cheval Quebec, published by the equestrian federation of Quebec.
