Chickens constitute the vast majority of animals raised and slaughtered for food in Canada each year, but there are many welfare problems in the way that they are bred, cared for, and eventually killed. This presentation will review the typical life of a farmed chicken, highlighting the most problematic practices and opportunities for improved welfare.
