Simon is nearing the end of his PhD in the history department at University of Toronto. His dissertation (which he hopes to defend by the end of the summer) is titled Jobs, Homes, and the Right to Exist: Neighbourhood Activism in De-industrializing Toronto and Montreal, 1963-1989.
