Liziane Peres Mangili holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture and urbanism, a master’s degree from the Instituto de Arquitetura e Urbanismo, Universidade de São Paulo (USP) (2000), and a PhD in architecture and urbanism from the Faculdade de Arquitetura e Urbanismo (USP). She is involved in the preservation of cultural heritage since 2002. She worked for the Programa Monumenta and the Instituto de Patrimônio Histórico e Artístico Nacional (IPHAN) at Lençóis (Bahia) and São Paulo, and has developed various cultural projects in Chapada Diamantina since 2004. Professor at the Universidade São Francisco and Universidade Paulista, she taught architecture and urbanism from 2009 to 2013. She published, in 2011, Bom Retiro, bairro central de São Paulo: transformações e permanências (1930-1954).
