After a master in human geography (Universidade Estadual de Campinas / UNICAMP, 2009), with a specialization in tourist destination planning (Serviço Nacional de Aprendizagem Comercial /SENAC, 2006) and a bachelor in tourism (Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Campinas / PUCC, 2003), Ana Maria Vieira Fernandes is currently a PhD student in human geography (UNICAMP), with a six-month session in the Departament de Geografia Humana of the Universitat de Barcelona, Spain (2014). Teacher of tourism previously at the Universidade Federal de São Carlos and SENAC Campinas, she now teaches both at PUCC and the Faculdade de Jaguariúna. Her research interests are: geographical approach of cultural heritage, cultural landscape, geography of tourism, production of space and tourist territoriality, and promotion of the image of cities.
