Biography 

Véronique Lesage has been a researcher at Fisheries and Oceans Canada since 2001 and started working on the St. Lawrence beluga in 1990, when she was in control and studying the impact of the Rivière-du-Loup ferry and small boats on the vocal behavior of belugas. Véronique is behind most of the population status updates carried out by COSEWIC since the 1990s, and as you have seen, she contributes to a wide variety of work that is carried out on the St. Lawrence beluga. She is the author or co-author of more than 150 primary publications or reports, and has many scientific presentations.
