Our collective aims to bring together knowledge and perspectives in the educational and cultural offering of the Innu schools that are members of the Tshakapesh Institute. We are witnessing the challenges of reconciling prescriptive frameworks from the majority society and the aspiration of Innu schools. We want to develop educational services that prioritize a balance between the needs of students, the voice of Elders and the well-being of school staff, and whose foundations and approaches are effectively adapted to this context. Apikateu is an interdisciplinary and culturally relevant teaching sequence that brings people and knowledge together to foster identity pride and academic success. Through discussions with the communities, the proposal continues to improve over time. In this way, we build together with the aim of transmitting a viable and meaningful educational model.f.
