Several studies show that vocational training is beneficial for adults and Indigenous communities. The most promising vocational training initiatives are those that take a decolonial approach and are based in Indigenous communities. In Quebec, a partnership with a vocational training centre is necessary to provide vocational training leading to a DEP (Diploma of Vocational Studies) in an Indigenous community, because it is the vocational training centres that hold the training credentials. Through interviews and sharing circles, this study presents the testimonies of various people involved in these partnerships, i.e., students and partners from Indigenous communities and vocational training centres. At the end of the analysis, a partnership model was developed to guide those interested in such a project. We will present this model, illustrating it with testimonies from the various people we met.
