Nutshimit and Waska Witcihitowin Indigenous student living environments are designed by First Nations and local partners. The objective is to provide living conditions conducive to the academic success of adult Indigenous students and their family members. They can benefit from affordable and furnished housing, early childhood services, and psychosocial services. This project also allows several partners, including Friendship Centres and educational institutions, to mobilize in a culturally adapted environment. Learn more about success factors and share positive experiences in these settings.
The Nutshimit living environment is in Sept-Iles and welcomes Indigenous students attending educational institutions in the region, including the Cégep de Sept-Iles, UQAC—Pavillon Alouette and the Mitshapeu-CREA centre.
The Waska Witcihitowin living environment is in Trois-Rivières and welcomes Indigenous students attending UQTR, Cégep de Trois-Rivières and Kiuna College, among others.
