My aim in this presentation is to reflect on how the indigenous peoples of southern Brazil are managing public education policies, in particular the Indigenous Intercultural Licence program (Federal University of Santa Catarina) and the Action savoir autochtones à l’école-ASIE (a continuing education policy for Indigenous people), and seeking strategies for knowledge circulation, ethnic affirmation and territorial claims, in dialogue with similar or comparable experiences in policies by Indigenous people in Quebec.
