The Disaster & Resilience 2021 Summit provides a harassment-free environment for all.

The organizers do not tolerate any form of harassment or behaviour that is deemed inappropriate. Participants who are asked to stop harassing behavior are expected to do so immediately.

All persons participating in the event, whether as speakers, collaborators, partners or volunteers, must abide by the following rules throughout the event.

Violation of these rules may result in expulsion.

Everyone is expected to follow these rules at the event and in discussions related to the event elsewhere.

Rules to follow

  • Communicate in an appropriate and respectful manner;
  • Refrain from harassment;
  • Do not take unauthorized photographs, screen shots or recordings;
  • Refrain from making offensive comments about gender, sexual orientation, disability, language, physical appearance, body size, race or religion;
  • Do not disrupt activities;
  • No offensive swearing or jokes are appropriate at the event.


Reporting a Code of Conduct Violation
If you are being harassed, notice someone else being harassed, or have other concerns, contact INFODR2021 immediately from the event using the chat box on the video conference platform.

The DR2021 team can also be contacted by email at info@dr2021.ca, please put "CODE OF CONDUCT" in the subject line. All reports will be taken seriously by the DR2021 team, while respecting the confidentiality of the information and the anonymity of the person who noted the problematic behavior.


What is harassment?
Harassment includes offensive comments related to sex, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, race, ethnicity, religion, technology choices. It also includes sexual imagery, deliberate bullying, sustained disruption at sessions or other events, and unwanted sexual attention.
