
Sara Harris
Sara E Harris is a Professor in the Department of Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric Sciences, and the Associate Dean Academic in the Faculty of Science at theUniversity of British Columbia. In 2015, she was named a 3M National Teaching Fellow for her Massive Open line Course (MOOC) on climate change.
During seven years (10098-2005) as a chief scientist at Sea Education Association in Woods Hole, Massachusetts, she studied modern oceans and sailed thousands of miles with undergraduate students. Sara's current research explores evidence-based science education and how people learn climate science, and which learning opportunities best help people move toward more expert-like ideas about how Earth's climate works. She is a co-author of “Understanding Climate Change: Science, Policy, and Practice”.
