Loryssa is currently a second-year D.Phil. in History student at the University of Oxford, conducting research on the English-born architect Gordon W. Lloyd (1832-1904) and the buildings he designed in the American mid-west and southwestern Ontario during the mid-to-late nineteenth century. She has held appointments at the University of Oxford, the University of Guelph, The Gardiner Museum, the Architectural Conservancy of Ontario and Sir John Soane's Museum in London, UK. She has also been acting as the Vice-Chair for ACO NextGen since April 2016, a group within the Architectural Conservancy of Ontario that was founded in 2011 to provide development opportunities for students and emerging professionals interested in heritage conservation and Ontario's built environment. Her D.Phil. research has been supported by the Arnold, Bryce and Read Fund, the Society of Architectural Historians of Great Britain, and Santander.
