Robert Piggott is a PhD Researcher in the History Department at the University of Huddersfield. His current research is part of the AHRC funded programme run by the Heritage Consortium. His PhD thesis explores the management of historic places of worship in England, particularly focussing on the role of voluntary action in this process. He holds a BA in Sociology and an MA in Sociology of Contemporary Culture from the University of York, as well as Certificates in Buildings Conservation, Archaeology, and Heritage Research. Prior to commencing his PhD research, he worked for English Heritage for a number of years.
