Stefan Moitra is a researcher at Deutsches Bergbau-Museum Bochum (DBM). He is currently leading an oral history project entitled ‘Mining People’, jointly undertaken by the DBM and the Foundation History of the Ruhr, which collects memories and life stories of former miners in the Ruhr and other German coal fields. He has previously worked on education and knowledge production in the mining industry, on industrial relations in the chemical industries and on the place of cinema in working-class cultures after 1945.
