My name is Lachlan Dudley and I am a PhD. student in the ICCR (Interdisciplinary Cross-Cultural Research) unit under the Centre for Arts and Social Sciences at The Australian National University. I have previously studied and published about the role of the human sensorium in upholding 18th century notions of civilisation and savagery for early British colonists in Australia, and currently I am conducting ongoing research into the ability of museums to prompt visitors to engage in empathetic reasoning in an effort to reduce prejudiced views towards mental health and illness.
