Christian Widholm, Phd in history, lecturer in Tourism studies
My research has focused on the constructions of collective identities and the influence of the mass media in society during the turn of the 20th century. Several of my studies touch upon the field of sports history and the role played by early sports journalism in Sweden.
I have also published research on how digitization of archival documents might affect visual and textual analyses of documents. Two (overlapping) publications on this subject are currently only available in Swedish. Another field of interest is the connection between entrepreneurship and (banal) nationalism.
Currently I’m working on a research project which critically focuses on heritage and maritime tourism attractions in Sweden (perhaps the Baltic region). This work has just begun and it hasn’t yet resulted in any publications.
