H. Hazel Hahn is the author of Scenes of Parisian Modernity: Culture and Consumption in the Nineteenth Century (2009) and co-editor of Architecturalized Asia: Mapping a Continent through History (2013), a Choice’s Outstanding Academic Title of 2014. Her research focuses on urban and cultural history, urban planning, architectural history and the planning of tourism in French Indochina. She also works on travel cultures examined through the popular press, travelogues, fiction, books on geography, and other cultural artifacts. She is also editing a book titled “Cross-Cultural Exchange in Southeast Asia and Europe in the Modern Era.” She will lead the annual Society of Architectural Historians Study Tour, to Vietnam and Cambodia in December 2016.
