Dr Pierre Plante
Pierre Plante, Ph.D., ATPQ, RCAT, is a full professor in the Psychology Department at the University of Quebec in Montreal (UQAM). He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Concordia University (1995), a Master of Arts in Art Therapy from Concordia University (1997), a Bachelor in Psychology from UQAM (1998), and a Doctorate in Psychology from UQAM (2005). He has authored or co-authored over 80 professional communications, including scientific articles, conferences, and workshops. He offers training courses in Canada and abroad, notably in Thailand, Japan and Tunisia. He is also an honorary member of the Art Therapy Association of Thailand (ATHA). His professional interests lie in the field of intervention through art, creativity, phenomenology and common factors in psychotherapy. He is leading several research projects in these areas with a variety of Montreal organizations. He is a member of the evaluation committee for the scientific journal of the Canadian Art Therapy Association (CATA). In 2005 and 2023, he was honored with the Quebec Art Therapy Association's (AATQ) Research Excellence Award. In 2014, he was presented with the Distinguished Service Award in recognition of his contributions. He has been an active member of the AATQ's Board of Directors since 1996 and served as president for over 15 years.
