You are invited to the McGill-Queen’s University Press book launch of “Deindustrializing Montreal: Entangled Histories of Race, Residence and Classon Sunday August 28th (1-3pm) at Batiment 7’s Les sans taverne (1900 rue Le Ber) in Pointe-Saint-Charles. Deindustrializing Montreal explores the history of the neighbourhoods of Little Burgundy and Pointe Saint-Charles, which face each other across the Lachine Canal, through the oral histories of long-term residents and archival research. The ways that industrial heritage on the canal has facilitated gentrification is explored.
