Tuuli Lähdesmäki (PhD, DSocSci) is an Academy Research Fellow (Academy of Finland) and an Adjunct Professor / Docent working in the Department of Art and Culture Studies, University of Jyväskylä, Finland. Lähdesmäki's major research interests include identity and heritage politics and discursive meaning-making processes in contemporary culture. Her research combines topics, theoretical approaches, and methods from art history, cultural studies, and cultural sociology. Lähdesmäki’s current research projects, funded by the Academy of Finland (European cultural heritage in the making: politics, affects, and agency, EUCHE) and the European Research Council (Legitimation of European cultural heritage and the dynamics of identity politics in the EU, EUROHERIT) focus on the construction and meaning-making of a European cultural heritage in EU heritage initiatives.
