Moving towards a more inclusive world through language teaching and learning

Over the past decades, Quebec has evolved into a society that is more and more open to its diversity. Adult second (L2) and additional language (L+) classrooms must take many emerging challenges in to account as individual learner needs become more diverse and educational practices require more inclusivity. Adaptive methodologies and tools as well as sufficient teacher training have become more in demand. As such, the organizing committee of this year’s conference invites L2 and L+ language researchers, teachers and other professionals to propose a conference talk. Submissions may address, but are not limited to, these subjects:

STRAND 1 : INCLUSIVITY

Intercultural literacy;
Multilingualism and plurilingualism;
The experience of immigrant learners as well as international, exchange and immersion students;
Identity and LGBTQI2SA+ diversity in the classroom;
Assistance for adult learners living with an impairment;
Educational technologies and practices.

STRAND 2:

25^th ANNIVERSARY OF ÉCOLE DE LANGUES - 10^th ANNIVERSARY OF MeLT

This year‘s edition marks not only MeLT’s 10^th anniversary but also the 25th anniversary of the École de langues. Former presenters and collaborators are invited to submit an abstract showcasing their current research.

10e Rencontre sur l’enseignement des langues<h2 style="text-align:center;">L’enseignement–apprentissage des langues vers un monde plus inclusif </h2> Au cours des dernières décennies, le Québec a évolué pour devenir une société qui s’ouvre de plus en plus à sa diversité. Les classes de langue seconde (L2) et de langues additionnelles (L+) pour adultes doivent tenir compte de nombreux défis émergents, dans un contexte où les besoins individuels des apprenants deviennent plus diversifiés et les pratiques éducatives nécessitent davantage d'inclusion. L’adaptabilité des méthodologies et des outils ainsi que la formation adéquate des enseignant-e-s sont des enjeux importants. A ce titre, le comité organisateur de cette année invite les chercheur-e-s, professionnels, professionnelles, et enseignant-e-s des L2 et L+ à proposer une conférence. Les soumissions peuvent aborder, sans s'y limiter, les sujets suivants :VOLET 1 : INCLUSION<ul><li>La conscientisation interculturelle ;</li><li>Le multilinguisme et le plurilinguisme;</li><li>L’expérience des immigrant-e-s, des étudiant-e-s internationaux, en échange et en immersion ;  </li><li>L’identité et la diversité LGBTQI2SA+ ;</li><li>Le soutien aux apprenant-e-s adultes en situation de handicap ;</li><li>Les technologies et pratiques éducatives. </li></ul><hr>VOLET 2 : 25e ANNIVERSAIRE DE L’ÉCOLE de LANGUES - 10 e ANNIVERSAIRE DU COLLOQUE ReEL L'édition de cette année soulignera non seulement le 10e anniversaire du ReEL, mais aussi le <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" href="https://langues.uqam.ca/babillard/lecole-de-langues-fete-ses-25-ans/">25e anniversaire de l’École de langues</a>. Les anciennes présentatrices, anciens présentateurs sont invité-e-s à soumettre un résumé présentant leurs recherches en cours.<hr>
