Dr. Israel R. Orimoloye is an academic staff at the Department of Geography, Faculty of Food and Agriculture, University of the West Indies, St Augustine Campus. Before joining the University of the West Indies, Dr Orimoloye worked with the University of the Free State, South Africa, University of Fort Hare, South Africa, Central University of Technology, Free State, South Africa and Monash University (IIEMSA), Johannesburg, South Africa. Dr Orimoloye specializes in remote sensing and GIS applications, environmental and disaster risk management and climate change. Dr Orimoloye obtained his first Doctorate Degree (2018) from the Department of Geography and Environmental Science, University of Fort Hare, South Africa and he earned his second PhD in Disaster Management (2022) from the Disaster Management Training and Education Centre for Africa, University of the Free State, South Africa. Prior to that, he earned his Bachelor’s and Master Degrees in Meteorology from the Federal University of Technology Akure, in 2010 and 2015, respectively. He has published over sixty (60) scientific articles including book chapters in high-impact factor ISI and Scopus journals.

Research Interests

My research portfolio revolves around Remote Sensing & GIS applications, climate disasters, disaster management, climate science, and environmental management.
